Discord is a chat room platform. These rooms are grouped within a space called a server. On each server, users can communicate through text, audio, and video channels. These tools serve the main purpose of Discord: to create communities of different topics.
Created by Jason Citron and launched in 2015, Discord is free software that has understood the needs of its main client: gamers. The program integrates seamlessly with Twitch (many streamers interact with their audience on Discord) and allows for low-latency video calls, a feature that helps avoid connection delays.
